Terms for customers
Last updated October 19, 2026
These terms cover ordering a cake through Kheeva. By placing an order, you agree to them. Cake makers agree to their own terms when they join.
What Kheeva is
Kheeva connects you with independent local cake makers in the Dallas area. We take your order and your payment, match it with a cake maker who has been checked by us, and stand behind the order until you have your cake. The cake makers run their own businesses. They are not Kheeva employees. Kheeva is run by NDN Ventures, Inc., 8080 N. Central Expy #1743, Dallas, Texas 75206.
Placing an order
- Give us accurate details: the date and time, the cake, how many it serves, pickup or delivery, and any allergies. Cake makers plan around what you tell us.
- Your order is a request until a cake maker accepts it. We'll email you when one does.
- Each cake needs a minimum amount of notice, shown on the order form. We may turn down an order we can't fill well, for example outside our delivery area or with too little notice for that cake.
Prices
- Everyday cakes (birthday, sheet, cupcakes and gluten-free) have a set price. You see the full total, including any delivery, rush fee and tax, before you order.
- Custom cakes (tiered, wedding and sculpted) are priced by the cake maker. You give a budget, cake makers who can make it send their price, and you approve one before you're charged.
- Rush orders, with less notice than usual, cost more. The extra is shown before you order.
- Once you've placed an order, its price doesn't change unless you change the order.
Payment
- Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe, and Kheeva never sees or stores your full card number.
- When you order, we save your card. We charge the full total only when a cake maker accepts your order, or for a custom cake, when you approve a cake maker's price. If no cake maker accepts it, you aren't charged.
- If the charge doesn't go through, we'll email you a link to pay another way. The cake maker won't start until it's paid, and if it isn't paid within the time we give you, the order may go back to other cake makers or be canceled.
- We keep your card on file so you can reorder in one tap. You can ask us to remove it at any time.
- The charge shows on your statement as KHEEVA.
Your cake
- Every cake is made by hand, so small differences from a photo are normal.
- A photo you share is a guide for the cake maker, not a promise of an exact copy. For a custom cake, you and the cake maker agree on a version that can really be made, and that design and the written details are what the cake is judged against.
- The cake maker sends us a photo of your finished cake before it's handed off. That photo is the record of what was delivered.
- Please keep messages about your order on Kheeva, so we have the details if anything needs fixing.
Allergies and home kitchens
Tell us about any allergy or dietary need when you order. Cake makers work hard to follow them, but most kitchens also handle common allergens such as wheat, milk, eggs and nuts, so we can't promise a cake is free of them unless the cake maker confirms it in writing.
Some of our cake makers bake at home under the Texas cottage food law. Their cakes are labeled: This food is made in a home kitchen and is not inspected by the Department of State Health Services or a local health department.
Pickup and delivery
- For pickup, come at the time you chose. The cake maker's address and phone are in your confirmation email.
- For delivery, someone needs to be there to receive the cake. The delivery fee depends on the distance and is shown before you order. Tiered and wedding cakes are always delivered.
- Once you have the cake, keep it cool and out of the sun. We can't be responsible for what happens to it after the handoff.
Changes and cancellations
- To change or cancel an order, email us at katieleesmith@kheeva.com or reply to any Kheeva email.
- Before a cake maker accepts your order, you can cancel at no cost. Your card hasn't been charged.
- After a cake maker accepts it, cancel 72 hours or more before your pickup or delivery time for a full refund. With less notice, the cake maker may already have bought ingredients or started baking. We'll refund what we can based on what's been done, and tell you the amount before anything is final.
If something goes wrong
Tell us within 48 hours of the handoff, using the link in your email or by emailing us. Someone from our team will reach out personally to find out what happened and make it right. If a cake maker can't make your cake, we first try to save your celebration with another cake maker. If we can't, you get a full refund. When no cake maker takes your order, or we refund it because something went wrong, you also get a one-time code for $20 off your next cake, good for 6 months. It's one code per order, can't be combined with another code and has no cash value. Our refund policy has the details. If we don't hear from you within 48 hours of the handoff, the order is treated as received.
Reviews
After your order is complete, you can review your cake maker. Reviews only come from real Kheeva orders. Your review shows on the cake maker's page with your first name and last initial, once the cake maker has also reviewed the order or 30 days have passed. You can change your review for 30 days. We remove reviews that are abusive, off topic, or share someone's private details.
Our responsibility
We stand behind every order as described above. As far as the law allows, Kheeva's responsibility for an order is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we aren't responsible for indirect losses. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under Texas or U.S. consumer law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version in place when you placed your order applies to that order.
